Emerson Borg is a trumpeter, composer, and educator originally from Raleigh and currently based in Baltimore. With extensive experience in both live performance and studio recording, Emerson is proficient in a wide variety of styles, including straight-ahead jazz, salsa, pop, funk, and R&B. His credits include collaborations with Fran Vielma Pan-American Jazz Orchestra, Javier Nero Jazz Orchestra, Branford Marsalis, Fred Wesley, Nnenna Freelon, Camille Thurman, and American Nomad among others. Under the mentorship of acclaimed trumpeter Sean Jones, Emerson received his Master of Music on full scholarship from the Peabody Institute.

From March-June 2025, Emerson played on Kim Deal’s (of the Pixies, Breeders) Nobody Loves You More tour. The band headlined at major international festivals such as Primavera Barcelona, INmusic Festival, Primavera Porto, Ohana Festival, and Newport Folk Festival. 

Currently, Emerson serves as a teaching artist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s OrchKids program and leads his own jazz groups throughout the DMV area, appearing at renowned venues such as Keystone Korner Baltimore, An Die Musik Live!, and Blues Alley. In addition to his creative projects, he frequently performs with premier entertainment agencies, including EastCoast Entertainment, Washington Talent Agency, Avenue 66 Entertainment, and Louis Pettinelli Entertainment.

Emerson Borg hopes to establish himself as a distinctive voice in jazz while carrying forward the legacy of the many great musicians who paved the way for his generation. Through continued collaboration, community building, and meaningful connection with audiences, he remains committed to growing both as an artist and educator, and looks forward to what the future holds.
